CERTIFICATIONS

The goals of YW Camp are to help draw closer to God, appreciate and feel the reverence of nature, become more self-reliant, develop leadership skills, respect and protect the environment, serve others, build friendships, and enjoy camping and HAVE FUN!  To help you reach these goals, you will be participating in the camp certification program.  We invite you to read throughout the YW Camp Manual (linked here) to familiarize yourself with these certification requirements before camp begins.  The size of the book can be overwhelming, so just look through your level!

For Youth Camp Leaders (YCLs) and Ward Camp Directors - This page will help you to prepare to teach the certification requirements needed as a Youth Camp Leader.  We want to make this as easy and fun as possible, and want to remind you that the best way to teach is by example.  Remember our Savior said, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." (Matthew 25:40)

Below are links to resources for certificate requirements for each level, and training helps for teaching.  At camp this year, we will be using laminated punch cards (see below) to help pass off each level's requirements.  We encourage you to complete some of these requirements before camp with your camp directors and leaders.  Other requirements will be passed off at camp with our YCLs teaching certain items in order to pass off their requirements.  We will let you know which ones will need to be passed off before camp.

Click here to see a complete Certification At A Glance document.  This is a condensed version of all the levels and their requirements, and will be very helpful for all YW Camp Leaders and YCLs to have.
